Stem cell injection treatment against pain – Non-surgical treatment of joint pain
Joint pain can have many causes. Cartilage wear, osteoarthritis, chronic arthritis or tendinitis, tennis elbow, jumper’s knee, golfer’s elbow, frozen shoulder, shoulder joint pain, tunnel syndrome, knee ligament injury, knee arthritis, degenerative hip disease.
All of these diseases require a complex healing approach. During treatments regenerative medicine is increasingly considered in addition to or instead of conservative and surgical solutions.
REGENERATIVE ORTHOPEDICS IS ONE OF THE MOST MODERN AND EFFECTIVE THERAPEUTIC METHODS
Its purpose is to eliminate locomotor complaints related to joint diseases and to avoid surgical interventions. In addition, the treatments of this specialty help with regeneration after orthopedic surgery, and a quick and complete return to sports and daily life.
Regenerative medicine can be applied to anyone, regardless of age, but is most effective in patients under the age of 75, in active athletes and those who have played sport earlier in their careers. Although the successful outcome of the treatment depends largely on the degree of inflammation and joint damage, based on our experience, 90% of our patients report significant improvement 2-3 weeks after therapy.

OUR REGENERATIVE ORTHOPEDIC TREATMENTS
We typically offer two types of treatment to our patients at our practice.
PRF therapy (Platelet-rich fibrin therapy): Large amounts of growth factors, cytokines and other elements are extracted from your own blood, which have a beneficial effect on inflamed tissues.
RMS therapy (Regenerative Musculoskeletal Stroma therapy): We harvest stromal cells, mesenchymal stem cells from the patient’s own subcutaneous tissue to help regenerate cartilage, muscle and tendon tissue, besides eliminating chronic inflammation.
A combination of PRF and RMS treatment may be the best solution in many cases. With this combined procedure, we naturally reduce inflammation and support the regeneration of the joint with several factors. Such a combined treatment consists of 2-3 sessions.
What is PRF-Therapy?
A simple venous blood draw is followed by centrifugation without the administration of anticoagulants. Centrifugation produces a complex result, which does not contain substances foreign to the body, but a large amount of growth factors, cytokines and other elements that have a beneficial effect on healing. Consequently, a much faster than natural healing process can be achieved during the treatment of orthopedic disorders. . The PRF technique is one of the definitive methods of regenerative orthopaedics.
PRF therapy has a direct anti-inflammatory and therefore analgesic effect, no antibiotics are required after the procedure and the procedure can be used in patients taking blood thinners.
The first step of the treatment is to eliminate chronic inflammation naturally. Once the chronic inflammation is resolved, natural cartilage production is restored. The formation of protein chains that form cartilage tissue, produced by cartilage cells, starts again. As a result of the injected connective tissue stem cells, this production of cartilage tissue will be greatly accelerated compared to the age-specific production of connective tissue stem cells.
What is RMS-Therapy?
The special RMS methodology is all about extracting the “healing” cells from your patient’s own subcutaneous tissues to help with joint problems and actually heal wear and tear. The effect of the stromal cells is complemented by connective tissue stem cells, also extracted in preparation for treatment, which enhance the long-term effect of RMS therapy.
Regenerative Musculoskeletal Stromal Therapy uses stromal cells or mesenchymal stem cells, which are abundant throughout the body. These less differentiated cells are an important part of the body’s immune response and reduce inflammation in several ways. They help hematopoietic cells to differentiate and produce the necessary blood elements.
The advantage of RMS therapy is that it can replace surgery with great success in the majority of joint pains, especially knee and shoulder pain, and can regenerate the painful joint to a large extent. For active athletes, the recovery time is reduced by a quarter to a fifth.
REGENERATIVE ORTHOPEDIC TREATMENTS PROCESS
Prior to regenerative orthopedic treatments, a personal consultation with a specialist is definitely necessary, which is complemented by a special X-ray of the loaded knee. In some cases, an ultrasound or MR scan may be necessary to determine the exact details of the therapy.
PRF and RMS are also treated in our outpatient clinic. Once the treatment is completed, the patient is free to leave our clinic and no other rehabilitation is required. There is no need to temporarily restrict the movement or weight bearing of the treated joint.
OUR ORTHOPEDICS SPECIALIST: DR. BEREY IS SOLID
The special, non-surgical solutions are provided by Dr Szilárd Berey, a Hungarian specialist in regenerative orthopedic treatments. Dr Berey, who is celebrating the 28th year of his professional career this year, is an orthopedic specialist and spine surgeon at the IQB Medical RC Health Center. “Complication-free, risk-free, without surgery, with high efficiency” – he believes that these four features make our regenerative musculoskeletal treatments really attractive to our patients.
